We cultivate the Nantes variety of carrots. A familiar, versatile and adaptable carrot ideal for the varied growing conditions of our farms.

We supply our customers with freshly dug Nantes all year round.

We plant in Ohakune in order to harvest and supply during the colder months . The cool soil ensures an even cylindrical shaped carrot with heightened natural sweetness. During spring and summer we supply carrots from Pukekohe, the fertile soil and temperate climate providing the variety with a more slender shape and a crunchy bite.

On the plate

Carrots are perhaps the vegetable of children, brightly coloured, yet easy to hide in cooked meals if necessary! Their subtle taste and natural sweetness does wonders to any meal, raw or cooked. A raw carrot in the afternoon is a great alternative to fruit, as is carrot juice for breakfast adding a little ginger to give it zing. Cooking carrots is simple, just wash, peel and cut into any shape before boiling, steaming, roasting, pureeing or even frying. Add a little honey to the fry pan and you’ll have yourself a beautiful side dish.

Feeding body and mind

Rest assured, a carrot a day can only do you good! With high levels of beta-carotene, carrots help your skin stay vibrant and vitamin A promotes healthy eyes.

Carrots are so widely loved across the globe that a Carrot Museum was founded in the 1990's paying tribute to everything about carrots.  There is also an International Carrot Day which has been celebrated every 4th of April since 2003!
