We grow the mighty New Zealand pumpkin on our Onewhero farm, which has nutrient rich soils and a free draining, gentle contour, vital ingredients for thriving pumpkin plants. We harvest our crop from late February through to the end of April.

On the plate

Soup, pie, curry and gnocchi… the recipes are endless! Once you’ve managed to cut through a pumpkin and removed the skin, you are most of the way there! If this sounds a little daunting, you can also cook the pumpkin whole, before cutting it up (just make sure you pierce the skin well before cooking to allow the juices to run out).

Feeding body and mind

Pumpkin is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, folate, lutein, potassium, niacin and fibre. Perfect all round goodies for great all round health.


Thought to originate from South America, pumpkin is the term generally used for winter squash, harvested when mature with a hard skin and firm flesh. Pumpkin soup has become a universal favourite around the world, each country offering their own variation on a theme.
